Academic?

My Art of Living class is reading Hamlet. I have never read Hamlet but I know the story pretty well through all its references in other literature and so forth. It's the Shakespeare play with "To be, or not to be, that is the question" and the one where everyone dies. As far as I am concerned, that is what has been important to know until now.

Anyway, I am reading Hamlet and I come across this passage:

"... to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man." (Act I, Scene 3)

This rings a bell and I read it in certain way, like I almost sing it? ... and that's when I realize...

It's in Legally Blonde the Musical. Vivian introduces Elle as the Valedictorian of Harvard Law School at the end of the musical beginning with this quote. The quote might be other places as well, but this is definitely how I know it :) Thanks Legally Blonde :) You helped me connect to Shakespeare!

Here is the clip from the musical!
