Late Nights

I had my first real college night last night. Full of stress and worry but intellectual excitement. My first paper was due today and my first programming assignment is due tomorrow. I was writing furiously and coding until 1:30am (not really that bad actually, but it felt like it was going to be later). The great part though is that I was loving what I was writing about and actually having fun. My dad was so right when he said that professors won't care about the petty stuff. So people know what I am talking about: my teachers in high school had all these details we had to worry about. We had to have a topic that specifically fit their prompt and then we had to follow a rubric. This said what had to be in each paragraph and exactly how much evidence was needed. Then we had to formate our documents with the correct MLA formatting and space everything correctly with the exact kind of quotations. All of the kids in my class were asking my professor these questions and his answer was always the same: "Do what you want." That feels great. I love it. I love you Daddy.
